Hammerfest Pre-Party
Kick off the Hammefest weekend at the Double Door! We have announced the Official Opening Ceremonies of Hammerfest.  This will be held at Double Door on Friday, February 12.  Double Door is the site of the first Hammerfest, so we thought it was important to begin there for a bit of nostalgia.  Many of you are not from Chicago so please be advised that Double Door has a small capacity, thus we recommend everyone that plans to go to get their ticket in advance. Musical guest include Once Divided, Commove, The Action Blast, and Very Special Guest TBA.

Blueberry Hill
St. Louis club show added for Jan 16 at Blueberry Hill. Tix go on sale here Friday. This will be a cool warmup for the ARF show on the 17th. Everyone come on and spend the weekend with us in St. Louis.

ARF's Stars to the Rescue
Lovehammers will play again this year as part of the Animal Rescue Foundation's "Stars to the Rescue" charity event. Lovehammers will be playing at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri on January 17th. Individual tickets go on sale in December and can be purchased through Metrotix at 314.534.1111. On November 5th, Lovehammers, supporting Gavin Rossdale, at the House of Blues as part of the Dare 2 Dream Benefit Concert. Portions of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Lovehammers will also be supporting Gavin Rossdale at The Fuel Room on November 4th. More info here.

Madonnari Off Main
Lovehammers is the headlining band for Madonnari Off Main on August 22nd in Glen Ellyn. Madonnari Off Main is an Italian Street Chalk Painting Festival, with all net proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation and the Glen Ellyn Gives Foundation - all charities supporting local children and families.

Handling the Mixing, Mastering, and Digital Editing of Heavy Crown by Lovehammers is Anthony Focx. Anthony is a seasoned, well respected, musician, that has grown fond of the seat behind the board, and has now mastered (no pun intended) the other side of recording an album. Anthony recently finished mixing Aerosmith and Metallica for Guitar Hero, as well as Buckcherrry's latest album - Black Butterfly.

"Because most of our albums have songs all over the spectrum, from Pop to Hard Rock, we wanted to work with someone that we felt was well rounded. We wanted someone that could rock, and at the same time hear the beauty in a pop ballad. Anthony is that guy." said Dino Kourelis

In conjunction with this, they made a special dedication of their song, "Trees." On Earth Day 2008, every time someone downloaded "Trees" by Lovehammers, 100% of the proceeds generated on that day are were donated to the Earth Day Network.

Lovehammers and MINK performed at Hard Rock Cafe Chicago as part of the March on Stage Benefit. The performance benefited Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization which brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcafe facilities. The benefit also raised money for Nordoff-Robbings Music Therapy.

24/7 Premiere Party
Marty Casey, along with Tom Higgenson from Plain White T's, played as part of the launch of a new television show called 24/7 Chicago Another singer that is going to be taking part is Tom Higgenson from Plain White T's. 24/7 premiered Saturday, March 29th on NBC right after "Saturday Night Live."

ARF Rocks
On January 4th, Lovehammers performed at ARF ROCKS, a benefit for the Animal Rescue Foundation. Lovehammers were asked to be a part of this annual event by Future Hall of Fame and multiple World Series Champion Tony LaRussa.
